This was a variation on the original set that saw the use of linear pixel fixtures.
When video walls are used on rentals I love to get creative with set design and ground packages.
For the fifth edition of the Soundstage set, I chose to go for a more theatrical look with the introduction of video wings.
Mac 600s on 4ft truss towers make great eye candy with thier gorgeous 8" Fresnel lens.
The second editon of the Soundstage set saw the use of a curved Absen video wall with cutouts for suspended beam and wash fixtures, flanked with a side wash.
I use tungsten whenever I can to warm the atmosphere in a way LED or HID can never replace
Mixtape in the studio for the first time.
For the Music NB recording of festival 506, I chose to use 100W light bulbs in 5ft lamps and chandeliers to create a more warm and intimate atmosphere for the acoustic artists.

Soundstage is programmed on an Ion Classic console and video content is mapped and controlled with QLab
Trees for a brighter future was a corporate fundraiser for Inclusion Advocacy SENB.
We use a large format LED wall with 64 LED panels. I create content myself as needed.
The Lumber Jills recording a Canada Day set for the City of Moncton in the very first design of the SSi Soundstage.
Chandeliers from the "Festival 506" project were reused as house lights in the studio.
Video wings are quite versitile and can esialy chage the look and feel of the set depeging on how the studio space is being used. From elaborate content to digial sets, creativity has no limmit.
Digital sets bring a whole new life to the space and are quite fun to experiment with. The side lighting in this space made it especialy easy to immerse tallent into the digital world.
Soundstage uses a 9 person crew. From video and camera crew to lighting and sound it takes a small army to keep the show going.
About Soundstage
SSI Soundstage is a weekly stream that started after COVID-19 fundamentally changed the way the entertainment industry operated. Few of us had any broadcast experience before the pandemic and we took it as a no-expectation challenge and flourished. We didn’t expect to fall in love with it so fast.
